Open the Golden Mount for yourself
The Golden Mount is located next to the Pom Mahakhan fort. It is a part of the Wat Saket temple. Its construction was started by King Rama III early in the 19th century. It underwent a reconstruction at the end of the 19th century and finally the concrete cap was constructed in the period of WW II in order to save the artificial hill from further destruction. If you want to get to the top you will have to pass a spiral stairway with 300 steps. You climbing will be rewarded by amazing views around you.
The best period to visit the Golden Mount is from lane November till January. At this time the frangipani trees are in bloom and the jasmine fragrance fills up the air.
The Golden Mount is the place where the annual temple fair takes place each November. The zest of the fair is a candlelit procession that winds up to the top of the Golden Mount.
