Bangkok National Museum
National Museum is located in Bangkok. It is considered to be the largest one in South East Asia. It offers your attention a wide range of various interesting exhibitions which will introduce to you the richness of Thai culture, history, the role of Buddhism in the Thai way of life. The remains of the former country capitals Sukhothai and Ayuthaya are also exhibited in the museum. This exhibition is worth seeing it as well. Among other exhibits of the National Museum are jewelry and gems, giant shadow puppets, weapons, ivory, royal possessions, musical instruments and pieces of Asian art and antiques.
The building of the museum consists of 6 structures. The Sivamokhapiman Hall contains the galleries devoted to Thai history and prehistory. Opposite there is Buddhaisawan Chapel with an idolized Buddha image, the Phra Buddha Sihing.
